Our Activities

Whom do we support?

In order to be eligible for SOUL's assistance, an applicant must satisfy three criteria.

  1. 1. Must be under the age of 18 (eighteen) years
  2. 2. Must be from an economically underprivileged background
  3. 3. Must suffer from a long-term disability, whether mental or physical

What do we do?

Broadly, our activities can be classified into three categories:

1. Provision of Medicines and Essentials

Ensuring that our children have regular and timely access to the medicines that they require is a critical component of our mission. We re-imburse our children for all the medicines that they are required to procure by reason of the disability that they face. Apart from this, we also supply each family with essential food and ration items every month.

2. Counselling and Support for Families

Disabilities affect not only the children but also their families. We offer comprehensive counselling services to children and their families to help them navigate the emotional and psychological challenges that come with caring for a differently abled child. Our support includes individual and group therapy sessions, educational workshops, and guidance on accessing additional resources. By empowering families, we ensure a supportive environment that promotes the overall well-being of the child.

3. Fund-Raising Activities

Often, our children require expensive medical procedures. Such medical emergencies can be devastating, especially for families with limited financial means. At SOUL, we assist in conducting fund-raisers to ensure that our children have access to any medical procedure that they require.

Methodology of Selection and Support

The criteria to be eligible for SOUL's assistance is laid out here. Any person whose child or guardian meets this criteria is eligible to apply for our support. In order to reach out to us for assistance, please contact us.

Upon receipt of any application, we arrange a meeting with the applicant to determine the veracity of the application.

We take a variety of steps in order to ensure that the support provided by SOUL is not misused. This includes, among other things, visiting the house of the applicant and engaging with their neighbours. This meeting also helps us understand the unique and personal needs of each child.
